FAQs
What issues can you help with?
I am trained to treat a wide range of mental health issues.

Do I need a referral?
No - you can contact me independently. Some insurers require a referral from a GP or a psychiatrist before agreeing to fund sessions.

How long is a session?
All sessions are 50 minutes.

Are sessions confidential?
All sessions are completely confidential unless concerns are raised about a person’s safety. I will then discuss with you how I must proceed.

Who should attend?
You can bring along whoever you choose or come alone. In the case of children, some parents bring the child for the assessment and others prefer to meet alone at first to discuss things openly before involving the child.

How many sessions will I need?
We will discuss this together and I will use my clinical experience and knowledge to estimate the number of meetings required. This can be challenging to predict and we will review along the way.

What treatment will I receive?
At first, we have an assessment to get to know each other. I draw on a range of evidence based clinical approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and systemic therapy to plan the treatment. Each intervention is tailored to the individual needs.

Can you prescribe medication?
No. I am not medically trained and you will need to consult a psychiatrist or your GP regarding medication. I may recommend this if I think it is appropriate.

Is parking available?
Yes.
